Smart Critters is an educational app for children aged 6–12, provided by Ventrion. This policy explains how the Android app handles information and how parents and guardians can manage it.

Smart Critters works offline. We do not collect or receive personal data from the app, and the app does not send learning progress or other app data to us or to third parties. No online account or sign-in is required.

Information stored on your device

The app saves information in its private local storage so that children can continue learning and playing between sessions. This includes:

  • A randomly generated local profile identifier and its creation time.
  • Learning activity history, including activities and skills practiced, correct answers, completion status, response times, and activity dates and durations.
  • Learning support levels and mission progress.
  • Earned and spent virtual points, unlocked cosmetic items, equipped critter items, and mini-game scores and history.

This information is used to provide progress summaries, adapt learning support, and remember rewards and customization. The local identifier is not an advertising identifier or an online account. Virtual points and item purchases are part of gameplay; they do not involve payment details.

No tracking, advertising, or data sharing

Smart Critters contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, or remote crash-reporting services. We do not sell, rent, or share app data. The Android app does not request Internet access, and it does not access contacts, location, the camera, or the microphone. It does not ask children for their name, email address, or date of birth.

The app uses the Godot engine and a local SQLite database to run the app and save progress. These components are not used to send app data to external services.

Children’s privacy

Smart Critters is designed for children. Children can use its learning and play features without submitting personal information to us. Learning records remain in the app’s local storage and are not used by us to identify, contact, track, or advertise to a child. Parents and guardians can remove these records using the device controls described below.

Storage, security, and deletion

Progress is retained on the device until the app’s data is cleared or removed. It is stored in the app’s private storage, protected by Android’s application storage controls. Anyone who can access the app on an unlocked device may be able to view its progress screens.

To permanently remove the app’s local records, open Android Settings → Apps → Smart Critters → Storage & cache → Clear storage (wording varies by device). This resets learning progress, points, and customization. Uninstalling the app also removes its local app data. We cannot retrieve or delete these records remotely because we do not receive them.

Your device or operating system may separately back up or transfer app data according to its own settings. Manage any such copies through your device or backup provider. Smart Critters does not operate a cloud backup or synchronization service.

Contacting us

For privacy questions, parents and guardians can contact Ventrion at [email protected]. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. We use it to respond to your request and retain the correspondence only as needed to handle it or meet applicable legal obligations. Please avoid sending a child’s personal information or learning records. You can use the same address to request deletion of support correspondence.

This website and Google Play

This policy describes the Smart Critters app. Opening this webpage makes a separate request to our website host, which receives standard connection information such as your IP address and browser request details to deliver and secure the page. This website uses no cookies or analytics trackers. Google Play and Android may process information independently under their own policies; Smart Critters does not receive that information through the app.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if the app’s privacy practices change and revise the date above. Any future feature that changes how information is handled will be covered by an updated policy and any notices or consent required for that feature.
